What am I agreeing to?
By pressing the "I Agree" button on the payment of your account, available when you are logged in, you are agreeing to paying a higher rate for the time in arrears, if, you wish to continue to be listed on Chartered Consultant Portal after the maximum arrears time.

So I'm not committed to paying?
Only if you wish to stay listed after the maximum arrears time. If you haven't paid up by then the account becomes suspended and invisible to clients.

Can I pay earlier?
Yes. You don't have to wait until the maximum time and the earlier you pay the cheaper listing is. Arrears are recalculated every 6 months. You will be emailed a reminder 1 month before these dates.

What is the cost?
Arrears are 4x the normal advance rate of currently £50 + VAT. Hence, although more expensive, the cost is not excessive and it is comparable or even less than advance charge of some other portals. The figures are, for arrears:
| 1 day - 6 months, | 100 + 25 | = | £125 | +VAT for 1 year's listing |
| 6 - 12 months, | 200 + 0 | = | £200 | +VAT for 1 year's listing |
| 12 - 18 months, | 300 + 25 | = | £325 | +VAT for 2 years' listing |
| 6 - 12 months, | 400 + 0 | = | £400 | +VAT for 2 years' listing |

Can I turn arrears off?
Yes. After you have pressed the "I Agree" button on your account payment page (visible when you are logged in) the button changes and will allow arrears to be toggled between on or paused. When paused the arrears amount owing does not increase, but, if the account is overdue then your entry will not be displayed to clients. Each time you change the arrears setting you will be emailed an acknowledgement.

Why does the button say "I Agree" again?
When you make payment the account is reset back to the normal (cheaper) payment in advance option. You can of course press the "I Agree"e; button again to re-enable Payment in Arrears.

Why are you offering this option?
Some consultants have asked for a payment on results option. That would not be possible without radically changing how Chartered Consultant Portal operates, namely, removing all direct contact details, making clients register, routing all job offers via Chartered Consultant and perhaps even monies. The knock on effect of client registration would be that search engines, such as Google, would not be able to search Chartered Consultant and so we not be as effective in promoting you.
Instead, we are offering Payment in Arrears. To be fair to those who pay in advance and to encourage members to pay sooner rather than later this has to be priced at a premium. Plus of course there is the risk that a consultant may just take 2 years of free listing and referrals and then leave. It is a gamble on our part that the amount of referrals will make it worthwhile paying to stay. And of course that is the reason we have to set a maximum time.
