Roger G. Lawrence PE CEM is an independent consultant and sole proprietor based in Raleigh, North Carolina. He provides specialized engineering services locally, nationally, and internationally. His activities cover a broad spectrum of engineering functions from practical hands-on trouble shooting and the development of low cost practical solutions to concept development. He has published a number of technical papers and presents turorials and workshops. He specializes in Electrical Reliability, Motors, Adjustable Speed Drives, Power Quality, Energy Storage, Energy Conservation, Energy Intensity, and Distributed Generation. He promotes compatibility in industrial electrical systems for increased efficiency, reliability, and energy savings. He applies the use of Advanced Control and Power Technologies to improve industrial electrical reliability and energy conservation. He is presently involved in the development of Pulse Power Sparker Technology and its potential applications.

He is an electrical engineer and has designed and developed power electronic equipment, specifically adjustable speed drives and uninteruptible power supplies. He has established a business based on inverter products. He has led the technical team for a drives' manufacturing company in the US, and developed and implemented a company wide ISO 9000 quality plan. He spent 7 years as technical consultant and Director of the EPRI Adjustable Speed Drive Application Office facilitating field demonstrations of ASDs, Flywheels, Ultra Capacitors, SMES, Dynamic Sag Correctors, and other power system mitigation devices. He was instrumental in the development of EPRI's ASDMaster Software. He is a US DOE Steam Specialist and Pump Specialist
Roger Lawrence has detailed knowledge of industrial manufacturing, utilities, and end users and offers engineering solutions for electrical reliability, system compatibility, energy management, and cost savings. He has completed work for a variety of industries including: automotive, pulp and paper, steel, cement, petroleum and petrochemical, water and waste water, textiles, rubber and plastics and both municipal and investor owned utilities. He has also worked for universities, government, non-profit and commercial entities.
